The considered life
Arnold Siegel —February 17, 2014

The forces that shape our consciousness, motives and desires reflect the felt necessities and mood of our times and in general do not distinguish us one from another. Each of us thinks there must be a meaningful goal ahead, or why is everyone running? We run, too. And so it is. We have had to find our personal freedom within a different frame. And we did.

Overcoming an apathy toward a sustained consideration of autonomy and life, we have located access to a uniquely creative experience of living. Our responsibility is the difference. We don’t want to waste our lives. Certainly not our own. But there are also things to which we could give life, and hope, and space. Subjectively, we think about, process and responsibly temper our perspective on the conditions and circumstances in which we find ourselves
